Peri peri masala powder recipe a spicy tangy spice mix.Homemade piri piri masala powder recipe with video and stepwise pictures.
This indian spice mix called peri peri or piri piri orginated from South Africa.Had always wanted to taste peri peri mix, finally got a pack but it was too spicy for us esp kids.So checked the ingredients list, googled then finally tried this homemade batch.Though I did use few store bought powders to make this, am so satisfied with the taste.
I skipped citric acid alone but tastewise its very close.I noticed tamarind powder in the ingredients list but the ones we have is fresh it may give moist texture so didn’t add it.Now I know how to balance the storebought mix too 😉 You can use this for any starter or even for curries, more recipes will come soon.

Notes
- I have used kashmiri red chilli powder for bright color you can use normal chilli powder but reduce it as it will be very spicy.
- If you are using onion powder you can add it directly.I used onion flakes so crushed it.
- I didn't have citric acid but its used to give a sour taste so if you have add 1/4 tspand crush it along with crushed items.
- You can taste it and adjust according to your liking too.
- The color of the spicemix depends on the chilli powder color.I used homemade kashmiri chilli powder.
