Steamed Caramel Custard Pudding Recipe

Creme brulee is a recipe which i wanted to make for a very long time. Finally made it few days back and it turned out so beautiful. I always thought it is hard to make because it needs blow torch. But when i came across a recipe in which the crust is actually made in oven. I grilled it and the top crust was so crackly. You can make the custard few days in advance and grill it when serving.

Creme brulee is a classic french dessert which is so delicious and taste so yummy. This is super easy to make and taste so rich.

Ingredients
  • Egg yolk - 2
  • Sugar - ⅓ cup
  • Cream - 1 cup (240 ml)
  • Vanilla Extract - 1 tsp
  • Sugar - 2 tblsp
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 160 degree C.
  2. Heat cream till it comes to a simmering point.
  3. Take egg yolk in a bowl, add in sugar and vanilla and whip till creamy and light.
  4. Add in hot cream little by little and mix well.
  5. Strain this and pour it into individual ramekins.
  6. Now place this in a baking tray. Pour hot water half way through the ramekins.
  7. Bake this for 35 to 40 mins. Remove and put it in fridge overnight or for 2 hours.
  8. Next day sprinkle some sugar on top of the custard.
  9. Pop this under broiler and broil on high temparature for 5 to 7 mins. Keep a close eye on the pot.
  10. Once it is brown and caramelized.
  11. Remove and serve warm or cold.

18)Pour hot water half way through the tray

20)Once baked. put this in fridge and cool

21)Remove it

22)Sprinkle with sugar

23)SPread it like this and pop under broil mode and grill for 5 to 7 mins

24)Serve
