Masala toast recipe a popular bakery style open toast with vegetables as topping, tastes so good.If you have seen bakeries around 11 AM this masala open toast is surely an eye catcher epsecially in iyengar bakeries.I have tasted it few times and love it a lot so thought to recreate it at home.

Masala toast recipe
Ingredients
- 5 nos bread slices
- 1 cup onion chopped finely
- 1 cup tomatoes chopped finely
- 1/2 cup carrot grated finely
- 1/3 cup capsicum chopped finely
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tbsp tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves chopped finely
- butter to toast
- salt to taste
To temper:
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp jeera
- 1/2 tsp ginger chopped finely
- 1 no green chilli chopped finely
Instructions

Heat oil in a pan add the items listed under 'to temper'.Add onion,required salt - saute until golden.

Then add tomato,capsicum and carrot saute until it shrinks and raw smell leaves.

Add all the spice powders along with tomato sauce.Give a quick mix, add coriander leaves saute for 2 mins and switch off.

Vegetable mixture is ready, set aside.Now in a dosa tawa spread butter and toast bread slices until golden on both sides.

Spread the vegetable mixture generously.Cut diagonally and serve !

Serve hot!
Notes
- Make sure to chop veggies finely so that it gets sauted quickly also easy tp spread on the bread slices.
- This vegetable mixture will be enough for 5-6 slices of bread but then it depends on how much you spread it.
- As soon as you spread the mixture serve it, else it wil become soggy.
