Thenga Chammanthi is a tasty, spiced side dish made by blending coconut, tamarind, ginger, small onion & herbs into a thick, coarse chutney form. Thenga Chammanthi is popular in Kerala – relished with rice meal and could be made in minutes.
Thenga Chammanthi is a chutney made with coconut as main ingredient. This is basically a kerala style coconut chutney / thogayal as we call in tamil. This Thenga Chammanthi serves as a great sidedish for rice.I am realy not sure whether this is a part of onam sadhya menu but still thought to try and post it as onam is nearing.
The first time I tasted this was during my college when a mallu friend used to bring it and we all loved it so much. After that I didn’t have a chance to eat this, so tasting it yesterday rekindled my college days, good old days.
