Ingredients
  • Oil for deep frying
FOR CHICKEN:
  • Chicken with skin and bones - 1 whole chicken cut into 12 pieces
  • Salt to taste
  • Black Pepper to taste
  • Lemon Juice or vinegar - 1 tblsp
FOR FLOUR COATING:
  • All Purpose Flour / Maida - 2 cups
  • Cornflour - ¾ cup
  • Garlic powder - 2 tblsp
  • Dried Parsley - 1 tblsp
  • Dried Oregano - 2 tblsp
  • Dried Basil - 1 tblsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Black Pepper - 2 tsp
  • Chilli Powder - 1 tblsp
FOR EGG:
  • Egg - 2
  • Water - ¼ cup
  • Salt to taste
Instructions
  1. Mix chicken with salt, pepper and vinegar and set aside.
  2. Take flour in a bowl along with all ingredients given together. Set aside.
  3. Take egg, salt, water in a bowl and whisk well.
  4. Now take chicken, coat in flour, then dip in egg and then coat in flour. Pack it well.
  5. Set aside in a plate to dry for 5 mins.
  6. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, drop chicken in and fry for 30 seconds to 45 seconds.
  7. Cover the cooker and pressure cook for 1 or 2 whistle.
  8. Now switch off the flame and let it sit for 5 mins.
  9. Now release the pressure carefully by lifting the whistle with a spoon.
  10. Now open the cooker, and heat it again and fry till the outer layer gets crispy again.
  11. Now drain it and serve hot.

Pictorial:

1)This is 1 whole chicken cut into 12 pieces. Use chicken with bones and skin on for best result. Take chicken in a bowl, add salt and pepper

2)Add vinegar and mix well

3)Make flour coating. Take flour, cornflour and salt in a bowl

4)Add in garlic powder, parsley, oregano, basil

6)Add in black pepper powder

7)Add in chilli powder

8)Mix well

9)Take egg in a bowl, add in salt

10)Add in water

11)Mix well

12)Now time to make the chicken

13)Take chicken and coat in flour

14)Coat well

15)Dip in egg mix

16)Coat it again in flour. Coat really well

17)Let the chicken dry for 5 to 10 mins

18)Heat oil in a pressure cooker for frying

19)Drop chicken in

20)Cover the pressure cooker and cook for 1 or 2 whistle

21)Turn off the heat and let it stand for 5 mins. Now release the cooker using a spoon

22)Now switch the heat on again and keep frying till chicken outer layer is crispy again

23)Total this process will take around 8 to 10 mins

24)Drain the chicken

25)Serve

Green chana sundal recipe, Chickpeas sundal, Hara channa sundal

Green channa sundal recipe with step by step pictures.Easy green chickpeas sundal for navratri with video.

The first time I heard about this hara chana or green chana was from my cousin, so this year I bought a small pack to try a simple sundal with it.It tastes similar to brown channa so you can try this for a change for Navratri 2019.

Green chana sundal recipe a quick healthy sundal for navratri

  • 1/2 cup green channa
  • salt to taste

To temper:

  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp split urad dal
  • few few curry leaves
  • 1 no red chilli
  • a pinch hing

To coarse grind:

  • 3 tbsp coconut
  • 1/4 tsp jeera
  • 1 small green chilli
  1. Soak channa for 6 to 8 hrs or overnight.Rinse well and add to pressure cooker along with salt and 3/4 cup water.
  2. Pressure cook for 6 whistles in low medium flame.Press and check if its easily mashable,set aside.In a kadai heat oil add items listed under ‘to temper’ let it splutter.
  3. Add cooked channa along with water(do not drain).Let it cook for few mins so that water is absorbed.To a mixer jar add coconut,jeera and green chilli, grind it to a coarse mixture.
  4. Add it and give a quick toss.Cook until raw smell leaves.Finally add coconut oil, give a quick mix.Switch off.
  5. Serve hot or warm.

How to make green channa sundal recipe

  • Onion - 1 sliced thinly
  • Tomato - 1 sliced
  • Cucumber - ½ sliced

  • Yogurt / Curd - ½ cup

  1. Mix sauce ingredients in a bowl.
