What is a Kheer?

Kheer is a indian pudding. It is made in so many variations. Traditionally rice is the main ingredient. It is cooked with milk till it is creamy and thick. It is even made only using milk as well.

Kheer is also made using carrots, sago, and other ingredients too

My no cook recipe for kheer calls for just 4 ingredients. Chia seeds is used as thickening agent in kheer. And gulkand and rose extract is added for more flavour.

Flavouring for Kheer / Variations:

1)Cardamom:

Cardamom is the main traditional flavour for kheer. It gives the AUTHENTIC FLAVOUR.

2)Rose Water:

Rose water adds nice rose flavour to the kheer. The aroma of the kheer is just perfect.

3)Kewra Water

Kewra water adds nice flavouring to the kheer as well. Kewra is extracted from pandan leaves. It is mainly used in many indian desserts and malaysian desserts.

4) Nuts

Adding of nuts adds little crunch to the kheer. You can use any nuts as you like. Almonds, pistachios, cashews can be used.

5)Saffron:

Saffron adds a nice floral note to the kheer. The aroma of saffron is mild and very distinct.
